The Engineer's Color Guide:
A Comprehensive Examination
of the Color Brown

Engineers, are you tired of embarrassing yourself in public? Do people ask you if you got dressed in the dark? Does you home decor resemble a warehouse? Well review this handy guide and never be embarressed by faggy interior decorators again!

Here are the simple rules:

  1. For some biochemical reason, engineers want everything to be brown.
  2. Not all browns are created equal, and they don't all go together.
  3. Most attractive colors don't go with brown.
  4. Most dull colors do go with some shade of brown.
  5. Never mix stripes and plaid, vertical stripes and horizontal stripes, or linen and wool.
  6. Memorize the color charts to the right and use them!
  7. Never wear a pocket protector with formalware.
  8. Styles change from time to time. Watch other people. Anything you've had since high school is out of style.
  9. Structural integrety alone does not make a good garment.
